The International Sportsperson visa (T2) is a UK visa that allows elite sportspersons and qualified coaches to come to the UK to compete or work in sport.
To be eligible for an International Sportsperson visa, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be an elite sportsperson or qualified coach.
- You must have been endorsed by your sport's governing body.
- You must have a valid Certificate of Sponsorship from a UK-based sporting body, sports club, events organiser or other organiser operating in the sporting sector.
- You must meet the English language requirements.
- You must have sufficient funds to support yourself and your dependents while you are in the UK.
If you are eligible for an International Sportsperson visa, you can stay in the UK for up to 3 years. You can extend your visa as long as you are still eligible. After 5 years, you may be able to settle permanently in the UK if you have had at least one visa that lasted longer than 12 months.
