Unsurprisingly for the Platinum Jubilee year, the top rank on the list for 2022 was a royal hotspot. One of the trickiest areas in the UK to avoid crowds is The Big Smoke, which topped the list and dominated it.

With almost 5.5 million visitors in 2022, The Crown Estate at Windsor topped the list of the most popular tourist destinations. Although there may not be much room among the other guests, tourists are welcome to walk the gardens of one of the Royal Family's favourite properties. The Natural History Museum in London, which is a favourite with families, came in second on the list. With an astounding 4.6 million visitors coming to see its collection each year, it topped the list of indoor attractions.
While the museum has many wonderful displays, tourists might want to consider going to a less well-known location in London. A remarkable natural history collection, including a rare walrus, may be found at the Horniman Museum, which sees much fewer tourists. It even features breathtaking views of London and was named the Art Fund Museum of the Year in 2022.
